How we decide what “fits”
Fitment is the whole point of this site. Here is exactly how we check it — including what we do not claim.
Manual curation, cross-checked against merchants
For every platform we cover, fitment is curated by hand and cross-checked against merchant fitment data — Amazon's vehicle fit tools, specialty brand compatibility tables, and manufacturer catalogs. We store vehicles by platform with generation labels, so a 14th-gen F-150 and a 13th-gen F-150 are separate entries, and a Tesla Model Y Juniper is never treated as identical to a Legacy car.
We do not claim every listed part was physically installed on every vehicle year in a table. We claim it was selected for that platform using merchant and catalog evidence, and that trim, cab, or generation caveats are called out in the fitment notes when they matter.
What you should still verify
- Trim, cab style, drivetrain, and option packages that change pedal layout or mounting points.
- Mid-generation refreshes — especially EV interiors and screen sizes.
- Live price, shipping, and return policy on the merchant page before purchase.
Why we require at least three offers
A comparison page only appears when we have three or more distinct, verified offers for that vehicle and category. A single-offer "comparison" is not a comparison, and thin pages help nobody. Hubs without deep categories stay reachable for browsing but are noindexed rather than pushed as primary content.
How prices are handled
We only display a dollar amount when a live merchant refresh verified it, and each price shows its check date. Where we have no verified price, the table says "see merchant" instead of inventing a number.
EV vs ICE
ICE maintenance categories (filters, wipers, brakes) have relatively clear catalog standards. EV accessories break on generation more often than on model year — Model Y Legacy vs Juniper is the canonical example — so we treat those refreshes as separate platforms and never copy fitment across them without explicit verification.
Industry ACES / VCdb (future scale)
Auto Care ACES with VCdb is the production standard for large ICE aftermarket catalogs. We will evaluate it if offer counts grow beyond what hand curation can support. Until then, manual curation cross-checked against merchant data is the honest source of truth for our catalog, supplemented by public VIN/YMM sources such as NHTSA vPIC as we add platforms.
Affiliate and advertising relationship
Affiliate commissions do not decide fitment, tiers, or row order. AdSense units are labeled advertisements and kept separate from comparison tables. See the affiliate disclosure for the money details.
